Rating please!
Hello good people! I recorded a song of sorts- at least a sample. Please have a quick listen and rate it! Click the link below. Let me know if I can improve it. The audio quality's a little bad, recorded using my comp's internal mic. You may have to turn up the volume a bit. (For those who want to know, I used audacity and the recording is in 5 channels).

Is there a background vocalist or did you mix your own vocals? Make it more background-ish.. would sound really nice.. maybe more falsetto, and different from lead vocals.
Was there a keyboard playing or guitar mixed again?
And I guess this just part of the song. You could have a bridge with softer chords.. and more background piano etc.
I really like it.. it deserves work.. but dont turn it into constant chord progression amateurish thing.

The background's my own vocals. There are three guitar channels- one for the rhythm, one playing the bass notes and one doing the chimy things... and i'm working on the second and third verses and the bridge... and i've been working on the falsetto too... let's see where this goes!

June 13, 2008 at 11:05 PMbtw.. try guitar fx box.. you can use your mic incase you don't have pickups.. unless of course if the semiacoustic's around.. then you can just use it as a line in.
You can play around with the equalizer and generate more bassy notes with the acoustic.. because i couldn't hear any bass ( i have some old but decent non-woofer speakers at home). Bass line would make the song really strong.. especially bridge gaps.
Plus the chimy things are nice.. but they'd sound really nice in grandpiano, at least thats what I feel. And acoustic guitars and piano really gel very well. You can get any stupid piano prog of the net play the same notes, just be careful about keeping time.
And guitar fx box has a bunch of thigns you could use for mixing.. although it could be overdoing things if not done right!
